Yes it will, any socket A cpu will work in these boardsThe bartons will just not run at their rated speed. What a lot of people don’t realize is that the clock IC on these boards is a 200MHz partofficially the board will support up to 266 fsb, lots of people are capable of runnign at 150 (300fsb)and 166(333fsb), my rig is running at 148 (296fsb).
I have pb with K7S5A and Athlon 1,4 Ghz: sometimes I can’t start my PC (no beep, no moniteur) I change memory (DDRAM or SDRAM), all the PCI adapters and the alim (300W)but there is always probleme.

The 10 USB ports was a contributing factor in me buying the Elite ECS K7S5A PRO motherboard. I found this board to be one of my favorite boards to use. I honestly have yet to find a reason not to have purchased it. I am slightly disappointed in its limitations – only 4x AGP and Processor socket

The K7S5A PRO has not given me one lick of trouble. It is a nice, fast chipset and it runs more stable with Windows XP than any other motherboard I have used (and I have used many). Also, you can’t beat the price! The one drawback (if it matters to you) is that the K7S5A motherboards have NO overclocking options, only a 200/266MHz bus speed switch.
