There is nothing wrong with lymphatic drainage massage after surgery except the cost. I know of no evidence that it reduces swelling – but it does make some people feel better while they heal. The tissue manipulation can increase infection so I do not permit it for at least 3 weeks. Swelling goes away in time on its own.
